*NOTE: Our next Populace Meeting will be Wednesday, 29 February 2012, in the Whittier Center Gym at 7:00 pm.

*NOTE 2: We will be helping with the Whittier Community Center's annual Vittles & Fiddles event on Saturday, January 28, 2012. There is some set-up on Friday at 7 pm, and on Saturday, we need people to help with serving and parking starting at 5 pm, and clean-up once the event ends. Garb is optional, & servers will get fed.

Arts & Sciences classes can be on any subject, skill, craft, or activity people would have done at any time pre-1600. If you would like to teach a class at Fighter Practice, please contact the Minister of Arts & Sciences, Lady Zoyia. If you would like to teach a class for the youth of our Shire, please contact the Youth Minister, Lady Hallerna Stjarnkona. There are also several guilds in the Shire where you can learn specific skills.

Officers' Meetings are held about once every few months, usually the weekend before Populace Meeting. Anyone is welcome to come, you don't have to be an officer. Talk to the Seneschal for more information. We have several positions open, and always need deputies and event stewards.

*NOTE 3: There is an officers' meeting scheduled for Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Lady Zoyia's house. Requirements for the various fighting styles and their armor requirements can be found at the Artemisian Marshallate.

There is a new form of fighting being experimented with in Artemisia: Cut & Thrust. It uses elements of both Heavy and Rapier fighting, and has its own armor requirements. Instructions for making a helm such as Dubhglas, our Rapier Marshall, brought on 3 November can be found at Historical European Martial Arts.
